Dartfish Technique Tips - September 2012

(Please allow a moment for the video clip to load.)

Here is Sean Hutchinson’s final snatch attempt at this year’s national championships. Sean missed all three attempts, not because the weight was too heavy, but due to some technique issues.

Watch the clips (both ¾ front and side, both regular speed and slow-motion) and note my comments. The final image (side, slow) reflects the bar’s trajectory. Note that the slight forward motion of the bar at lift-off, in addition to the lifter’s jump backward, result in the bar being at arm’s length, but not in a position that he can maintain.

Use the white triangles just below the Play bar to see this lifter’s key positions, along with my commentary. You can advance key positions by using the Next Marker option. Also, use Dartfish’s Next Frame option to watch the lift frame-by-frame.
