Dartfish Technique Tips - May 2012

(Please allow a moment for the video clip to load.)

In recognition of Kendrick Farris’ nomination to the 2012 USA Olympic Weightlifting Team here’s the full shot of his final snatch attempt at the nationals.

Kendrick is certainly not a perfect technician, but he absolutely gets the job done. Look through this Dartfish clip and see where he is at various stages of the lift. Of particular note are the explosive start that continues to accelerate, his rigid torso position at lift-off, and his outstanding use of his lower body to execute the second pull.

Use the white triangles just below the Play bar to see this lifter’s key positions, along with my commentary. You can advance key positions by using the Next Marker option. Also, use Dartfish’s Next Frame option to watch the lift frame-by-frame.
