Classical C&J Technique

TJ Greenstone, first-year lifter (+105kg category) and national level coach, secures the bronze medal at the 2013 American Open Championships with this final attempt 185kg C&J.

Use the white triangles just below the Play bar to see this lifter's key positions, along with my commentary. You can advance key positions by using the Next Marker option. Also, use Dartfish's Next Frame option to watch the lift frame-by-frame.

Beginning lifters would do well to emulate Greenstone's technique. Note in particular how close the bar remains as he pulls under and the height at which the barbell is racked. Short of the rear-foot-first recovery, explainable under competition conditions, the rest of the lift offers a fine example of textbook technique.
