USAW & UKSCA Programs Maxed Out Early
“Registrations for the June 22-23 USA Weightlifting’s Level I Coaching Course in Fort Vancouver, WA are closed,” said Coach Newton, the lead instructor. “We reached the number of 30 real early and there is a waiting list in case of cancellations. It’s not practical to try to provide in-depth, hands-on coaching with more than this number. Going through the motions with PVC is one thing, lifting weighted barbells is another.”
And a 3-hour hands-on practical session at the UK Strength and Conditioning Association’s Annual Conference in England, June 4 also reached 30 quite early. This session is followed by two presentations on Saturday and Sunday.
All these signs continue to suggest that weightlifting (Olympic style) remains a popular topic for strength professionals around the world. “It’s an honor to pay back to the sport that has given me so much,” says Coach Newton, the 1984 USA Olympic Team Coach for weightlifting.
