Strength and Power Notes October 2010
The USAW Level 1 course at Sandbox Athletics (www.SandboxAthletics.com) October 16-17 came off well, with a total of 11 participants. While attendance was down a bit over some recent programs, USAW is guilty of flooding the State with programs in 2010. I’m wondering what wisdom goes into a Level I in Pensacola, one if Bradenton, one in Fernandina Beach, and one in Jacksonville all within 90 days.
Just back from the Orlando Open meet at Timber Creek High School. I took some video and plan to feature some lifts on my Dartfish.TV channel, www.Dartfish.tv/NewtonSports. If you’ve not yet checked this site, do so right now. Some collections are private, some public, some by subscription.
My final Performance Keys program is set for Daytona Beach, November 13. Doug Lane and I will cover eight hours of classroom and hands-on work with CrossFitters, athletic trainers, strength coaches, and weightlifters. Realizing economic times are tough, I've eliminated the two-price structure; everyone gets in for $179! But, I do ask that you register early or let me know of your intention to sign up at the door. NOTE: no credit cards can be accepted for walk-ups the day of event.
Otherwise, the next few months allow me to produce some new products and get in a bit more training myself.
Patrick Langley, my web manager, recently mentioned how many views this Strength & Power Notes recorded, especially in years past. For the past year or so most of my more in-depth content is featured in my free eBulletins (click here), so if you’re looking for more details, feel free to sign up for this free emailed newsletter.
In reference to the Dartfish comments above, note that each weightlifting eBulletin features a clip featuring my analysis. You can also find a limited number of analyses on my homepage, so check ‘em out whenever you see something new has been posted.
I plan to attend the Florida State Championships in Jacksonville next month, then travel slightly north to Savannah, where I’ll watch the final day of the American Masters and work with a couple of lifters.
