Strength and Power Notes February 2010
Please spread the word on this, as strength coaches and athletes are always looking for instruction on the power clean. Here’s a chance to get some great training and technique tips at an unbeatable price!
Keep an eye on the site for more titles in the near future.
You’ll also notice in the headlines section of the home page the announcement for four workshops in Florida this year entitled Performance Keys: From Increased Strength to Explosive Power (see PDF flyer - 391 kb). Since returning from Hawaii in ’07 I have not been active in promoting Newton Sports workshops locally. It’s good to get back to the basics and partnering with Doug Lane promises to bring some new perspectives to a familiar topic.
I was pleasantly surprised (and honored) to receive an invitation to present at the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) conference this June. This group got started about 2004, I believe under the encouragement of Mike Stone, PhD. UKSCA has grown rapidly and is doing a great job of pulling together the task of improved athletic performance, especially in the shadow of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
I’ll be doing a couple USA Weightlifting programs over the next few months, with one in Morrisville, NC on March 13-14 and one in Oregon a few months later (date not currently determined). These will be the new format agendas, combing elements of the former Club Coach and Sports Performance Coach courses.
You know I’m a big fan of back extensions and inversion training, and that I find the Back Revolution to be the easiest and most convenient means of doing both. If you are not familiar with the Back Revolution, check here for details.
Well, here’s a chance to save big on this great piece of equipment. The Back Revolution System, which consists of the Back Revolution, a Back Revolution Stick, along with assembly and use instructions, is now available for only $399.95, plus $50 shipping to any of the 48 contiguous United States.
Previously there had been two Back Revolution models, this one and a “pro” unit more heavily constructed and suitable for commercial operations. Bill Kaiser, the inventor of the Back Revolution, has wisely decided that during the current economic slowdown, it makes sense to promote the standard model at this great price.
So, if you’ve been holding off buying a Back Revolution, now is the time to buy! If you don’t have access to a way for performing back extensions or if you don’t have a means for inverting, especially after squats, here’s your chance to get the best equipment at a great savings.
