Steve Fleck, PhD, Wins NSCA President-Elect Position
Steven J. Fleck, PhD, was elected to the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s board of directors as their president-elect during the NSCA’s national conference today in Las Vegas. He takes over the organization’s presidency in July 2012.
"I first met Steve in 1980, when I was coaching at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center," said Harvey Newton, USA Weightlifting’s first national coach. "Steve had a deep interest in weightlifting and eventually established himself as a strong contender at masters’ competitions in Colorado and elsewhere. He was an exercise physiologist for the USOC, authored numerous books, presented to USA Weightlifting coaches’ education programs, and was very active with the NSCA and their Certification Commission".
"Steve Fleck will be a great asset for the NSCA and will continue to contribute to the knowledge base of our weightlifting coaches," Newton said. Congratulations, Dr. Fleck!
