“One of the most valuable pieces of exercise equipment available,”
says Olympic Coach Harvey Newton of the Back Revolution®.
“I’ve had a Back Revolution® in my home gym for nearly 20 years
and use it regularly. It is simply the most comfortable, more effective
way to perform back extensions, a core training exercise all athletes
should utilize.”
What many people call a “hyperextension” or “hyper” is correctly known as
the back extension. Conventional exercise advice cautions against hyperextending the lumbar spine, so why call this exercise a “hyper?”
The back extension is the easiest way to develop the lumbar spinal erector muscles through their full range of motion. The problem is, most benches commonly found in gyms require you to maintain the knees in an extended position. Depending on flexibility, this can be a challenge for some.
Also, don’t confuse a real back extension with the good morning-type exercise performed on a forward-leaning, padded bench angled at about 45 degrees.
“I’ve easily used the Back Revolution® with a 20-kg bar or disc behind my neck,” Newton said. The Pro Back Revolution® is solidly built and ready to endure all sorts of repeated use. Inventor Bill Kaiser has successfully stacked over 1,000lbs on the unit’s stand simply to test its durability (the stand passed with flying colors). The Back Revolution® takes up very little space in a bedroom or garage gym and it easily folds for convenient transport.
Newton continued, “The big selling point for the Back Revolution® is the ease and comfort with which you can invert. Inversion has long been a recommended training modality, particularly after a workout of squats or clean-and-jerks or after running. Brief periods of inversion do wonders for decompressing the spine and helping you recover for the next workout.”
Coach Newton recalls the days before the Back Revolution®, when hanging was accomplished in a straight-leg fashion from straps or boots. “I’ve done inversion since my competitive lifting days in the 1970s. We had some humorous workouts at the US Olympic Training Center in the early ‘80s, getting the heaviest lifters into position with inversion boots. Instead of a relaxed posture, the straight leg hanging position killed their ankles, knees, and hips. Most challenging was the struggle getting superheavies into and out of their inverted position.”
So, here is your chance to get one of the “best kept secrets” in the exercise equipment world. Click here and you’ll be taken to the site from which you can directly order the Back Revolution®. And, remember, in addition to the Back Revolution® and its instruction poster, you’ll also receive a Back Revolution® Stick. This is a great device for warming up the muscles (passive warm-up) before a workout or inversion session. Additionally, it’s a great way to self-massage after a training session or whenever muscle aches are experienced.
According to Olympic Coach Harvey Newton, “If there’s one exercise you need to include in your workouts, it’s the back extension. And the easiest, most comfortable way to do this is on the Back Revolution®.”
